Yamaha 882 vs 882UII. by Rusty » Wed Nov 13, 2024 6:54 am. I haven’t been able to find a definitive answer on what the differences are between the international model YSL-882, and the Japanese market 882UII. I know it’s the 2nd Gen. from the 882U, but from the looks I can’t see much difference between it and the international model 882 . Got my first trombone today, it's second hand but it looks brand new. Is this a good model? I'm a beginner, I don't need amazing sound quality or anything. It was around 1000 USD but was purchased in Japan. Will this last long and play well?

The 648 is a 'clone' of the Conn 88 and plays relatively close to that. The 448 is a Yamaha design which isn't to say it's bad but the 400 series generally have heavier bells which can be harder to play on, or at least can be in my experience.
